I thought I would forward this in case useful - follow the link below to a fantastic resource detailing sources of funding; the last few pages are particularly useful (Page 51 onwards)
Community First is an £80m government-funded initiative that will run for four years, until March 2015. The programme will help communities come together to identify their strengths and local priorities in order to plan for their future and become more resilient. It will fund both new and existing community groups.
Can Do Health is a small grant scheme for small and emerging community groups
whose activities have a positive impact on the communities health and well being.
3 local advice agencies - MACS, BHT and the CAB are currently able to provide a limited number of additional home visits to vulnerable residents as part of the Government's 'Warm Homes, Healthy People' campaign this Winter.
During the visits, residents will receive free, independent and confidential advice and assistance to maximise their income and deal with any debts.
Residents must be referred by a local voluntary (or public) sector organisation.
If you would like to refer someone, please visit

(the referral process is very straight forward)
Bids are being invited to use £300,000 set aside by the Brighton & Hove City Council to help local people in deprived areas of the city help themselves and tackle the issues they care about most.
